Flying to Italy

Flight costs can truly vary day by day. We have seen flights as low as $400 and as high as $1,800. We recommend setting a Google alert and being flexible with your itinerary to find the lowest cost. There are an abundance of airports to fly out of/into when considering your trip. We highly recommend flying out of Newark or JFK airports for the most cost-effective options.

When flying into Italy, the closest international airport, with direct flights, to our venue is Rome’s Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport, which is about 2.5 hours away. The Florence Amerigo Vespucci Airport is closer, only a bit over an hour away; however, there are no non-stop flights to this airport. We recommend this airport if you don’t mind a layover, or if you are coming from somewhere else in Europe beforehand.

Other international airports to consider include Milan, Venice, and Naples.

Traveling Around Italy

For those who want to travel around the Tuscan countryside at their leisure, we recommend renting a car. For $20, you can receive an International Drivers License and rent a car straight from the airport. More information found here. Please note, they do drive on the same side of the road as us!

Another option is using Italy’s efficient and convenient train system. This is our preferred way to travel when we get there. There are two main systems, TrenItalia and ItaliaRail. For both, you book your tickets ahead of time online and you’ll be ready to go when you arrive!

Getting to Our Venue

We want to make sure we make your travel as easy as possible. To do this, we will coordinate transportation to our venue from one central location on June 17th. We will base this around everyone’s itinerary, but it will most likely be from Rome or Florence.
